Our Makers

Doherty Evans & Stott

We have always been interested in working with makers as opposed to brands. These makers are experts in their specific field whether that be trousers (Incotex) or shirts (both Eton & Drake's) for example. Alot of our makers have atleast 50 years of heritage.

We hope to introduce these makers to customers who will benefit from the quality of their wares for years to come.

ANDERSON'S, belts

Anderson’s have been manufacturing fine quality leather belts in Parma, Italy since 1966. Founder Mr Carlo Valenti had an appreciation of British style when he chose the name for his brand which is now run by his daughter and son. Like their neighbour in Parma – Caruso (who make our tailoring), Anderson’s materials and production are 100% Italian, the brand is globally regarded as one of Italy’s finest exponents of specialist accessories.

CARUSO, tailoring

Caruso have become our sole tailoring supplier since 2012 and we’re very pleased to have found them. Established in Parma in 1958, Caruso is a brand with an ever growing reputation for quintessentially ‘Italian’ menswear collections which are precise and modern with bold, playful flair. They produce only ‘fully canvassed’ garments which we offer for our premium Hand Made tailoring service.

CROCKETT & JONES, shoes

Founded in 1879 in Northampton which is of course England’s most famous shoemaking town, Crockett & Jones are a world renowned specialist in the manufacture of high quality Goodyear-welted footwear. It is this heritage and quality combined with iconic modern styling which makes Crockett & Jones really stand out.

DRAKE'S, shirting and printed accessories

Drake’s began life in East London in 1977, a stone’s throw from the city’s silk weaving roots in Spitalfields. Originally a maker of men’s ‘Scarves, Shawls and Plaids,’ the company found a loyal following amongst both high fashion boutiques and conservative tailoring houses in the most discerning markets of Paris, Milan and Tokyo. The company soon began producing handmade ties and handkerchiefs under the watchful eye of eponymous founder, Michael Drake, which quickly took up his place at the heart of the business to this day.

DOHERTY EVANS & STOTT, custom suits & accessories

You will find our name on wedding suits, pocket squares and neck ties for your big day.

ETON, shirting

Eton is an industry leading shirt making expert and is by far the best known of our makers. Eton's shirts are many things to many people - to us it delivers an array of stylish, timeless looks but best of all - durable formal and casual pieces.

FEDELI, knitwear

To this day, Fedeli garments are born out of the same factory in Monza as they were 85 years ago – ensuring the traditions and values harboured by Luigi Fedeli have been preserved and passed down through the generations. What will never change are the core values and the sentiments that give continuity and coherence to the collections – manifesting themselves in each garment that leaves our factory.

HARLEY OF SCOTLAND, knitwear

Established in 1929 – with textile knowledge and technical expertise spanning three generations of the same Harley family – Harley of Scotland are market leaders in seam free whole garment knitwear. With a heritage anchored in fair isle knitting techniques, Harley garments are inspired by the local landscapes and culture of the North-East and Northern Isles of Scotland.

IL BUSSETTO, leather

Il Bussetto was founded in 2004 by Mauro Gobbi in Milano. After many years spent in the leather trade and in the production of leather goods, he was attracted by a unique and special Tuscan leather craft technique. This distinctive method allows the production of small leather goods moulded on wooden modes and devoid of any seams. He was charmed by these styles that transmitted tradition and originality, while expressing high craftsmanship ability.

MACKINTOSH, outerwear

For almost 200 years mackintosh has been one of the world’s most influential coat makers. The DNA of the brand surrounds its craftsmanship, unequalled expertise in the manipulation of rubberized fabric and the constant evolution of its designs. The brand has become synonymous with its outerwear products, but also with the introduction of new collections, including the Mackintosh Mainline and collaborations with some of the world’s leading fashion houses.

PANTHERELLA, socks

Pantherella have been making ‘the world’s finest socks in the heart of England at Pantherella’s Leicestershire factory since 1937′ and have been market leaders from that day to this. We couldn’t have put it better ourselves. Created using the best yarns and a brilliant colour palette, we confidently choose from their collections each season knowing we have the best gentlemen’s ankle socks money can buy.

PRIVATE WHITE VC, outerwear

Named after the grandfather who founded the factory where 100% of it's output is put together - Private White VC is Mr James Eden's brainchild. We are particularly proud to count it among our makers as each garment is handcrafted ONE mile away from our store in Manchester but also because these garments easily sit alongside any other menswear maker in terms of quality and style.

SEBAGO, specialist footwear maker

For more than 45 years, Sebago® has been handsewing leather boat shoes with care. Each pair is touched by the hands of the finest crafts people, many of whom have come to this tradition as a craft passed down from generation to generation. Sebago is making Docksides the same way we have been from the beginning.

SLOWEAR, family of specialist brands

Slowear is a family business concept and an Italian lifestyle project stemming from a long industrial history, combining four historic Italian fashion brands that share a high level of specialisation. Slowear was built on this heritage of know-how and product-centric passion, and promotes a ‘durable’ fashion concept, featuring inner and outer qualities that make it immune to the passing of time and fleeting trends. This philosophy caters to a need that is becoming more and more urgent in the fashion industry: spreading a more ethical and sustainable consumption model. Five souls, for a universe of coherent style and a total look of informal and timeless elegance.
