Tailoring - Ready to wear.

The return of the suit...

We never stopped selling suits. Tailoring has been our bread and butter since our inception in 2010. And before that at Gieves & Hawkes, the engine driving our previous employer's business was always the suit first, followed by shirts and ties etc. Since we opened our store in 2012 with suits and jackets in the window, there was still a strong demand for regular suit wearing but then ...the world discovered dressing down.
Since then suiting for us has been a Made to Measure situation only.
Well we have a proposal - it's time to smarted up!
With the wheels of the fashion world slowly turning back towards more formality, now feels like the right time to embrace smarter dressing when the occasion calls.
We craft custom made suits for many men who tell us what an absolute delight it is to be dressing up again! We also know what suits are most desirable and we have the experience to put together what we recommend for a timeless piece of tailoring
So what do we have for you.....

Two styles of three piece, single breasted suits in beautiful 100% wool cloths.
We chose both fabrics from VBC, an Italian mill renowned for this weight of wool production. These are cloths which we know from experience will perform very well over time and have a luxurious feel.
The olive green colour has a melange look and a super smooth handle. The navy colour is a deep rich midnight blue.

We chose fairly classical details on the jacket and waistcoat focusing on quality of fabric and getting a good fit although we can make minor adjustments in store, of course.
There are small differences between the two as we made the navy a touch more formal. It has peak lapels and flaps pockets.
The trousers get some lovely details to differentiate them from standard 'suit trousers' like the feature waistband and side adjusters, plus a single pleat. Particularly noticeable if worn separately..

These elements elevate the overall look of the suit, finished off with brown horn buttons and deep toned linings.
With Autumn round the corner, the moment for a soft wool handle is now.

And a final thought - if these suits specifically aren't for you, let them be an inspiration for your own Custom Made project. Feel free to call in to see for yourself.
