WFH Series: Matt’s Maison

It’s Matt’s turn this week over in Didsbury.
Let’s have a peek into Mr Evans’ interior life now we’re all
Working From Home with some snaps and a few questions.

Welcoming you in, in lightweight layers from our current season.
The look is topped off with Eton’s super easy cotton Overshirt
We loved this piece so much, we bought all 3 colours!

The other pieces are equally lightweight, perfect the current heatwave.
Zanone’s ‘Ice Piquet’ Polo will actually keep your body temperature cool in heat being made from  the brand’s technical cotton.
Read more about this piece here.

The Drake’s Crosby suede boot is a real favourite of staff and customers alike.
Combining comfort with easy style especially suited for the summer months and will work with any casual trousers and shorts.
They’re online here.

Where is Home ?
Didsbury, Manchester.
I’ve lived here over 10 years now, the area is a good one to be locked down in.

Plenty of green space to walk and cycle in and maybe meet a friend for a shared flask of coffee,
at either end of a
bench!

And do you have a specific area to work from ?
Ideally the garden, weather depending!

Any particular corners you’d like to highlight?
The hallway is quite ridiculously large because it used to serve the whole 3 storey building so
it took me a while to feel how I wanted to use it’s long slim shape but by zoning off, I got there in the end!

The vintage sideboard and bar (open for Christmas negronis!) are at opposite ends of the hall.

Do you have a soundtrack or particular artist that’s currently working well as a WFH back drop?

I’ve made a playlist of particularly sun kissed and blissed out numbers that distract from grim realities and work especially well on beautiful days like we’ve been having lately.
Some of these I’ve had for years on vinyl – enjoy!

Play

We always carry this Aspesi UT overshirt style in different cloths every season.
This is a navy seersucker from Spring 19 and the 2 below are available online.
The trouser is a Caruso style in seersucker, available as MTM.

And to really complete this more loungey look these Derek Rose leather slippers
are from when we stocked the British brand a few seasons ago!

If and when this is all over and you’re allowed to go shopping again – what’s the one item you’d rush to grab?

The next items I want are more made to measure pieces!
I’m really excited about our new Custom Made venture so will be experimenting with different pieces, especially pleated trousers in different fabrics!

What are you discovering around you ?
Could you tell us what you are appreciating on your lockdown strolls?

It’s all about the green spaces around my area and on the bike it’s even better.
Particularly the Water Park which connects Chorlton with Didsbury is just great and there’s a temporarily abandoned golf course which has become an immaculately landscaped hangout for locals.
It’s beautiful!
